Before we talk about the Childless Holiday Card Exchange 2025, let me tell you how it all got started…
In 2021, Missy—a fellow childless warrior—asked if I’d like to participate in a Childless Holiday Card Exchange. Because I love Christmas, I quickly responded, “YES!” (You can read more about that here.)
So, in 2021, Missy & I organized the 1st annual Childless Holiday Card Exchange. Fifty-one fabulous ladies joined the closed Facebook group (a requirement to take part in the childless holiday card exchange). And 51 fabulous childless ladies had a phenomenal time getting to know one another within the group, posting pics of our holiday décor, and writing excited comments as we received our first holiday cards from fellow childless warriors…
Since that first successful year, Missy & I have reopened the Childless Holiday Card Exchange Facebook Group every October. We catch up with our card exchange friends & have thoroughly enjoyed giving and receiving cards.
Over the past years, however, the group has decreased from 51 members to just 33. Some ladies have shared (privately with me) why they are leaving the card exchange. Others have simply quietly left with no explanation. And some, we have unfortunately had to remove from the group because they did not respond to surveys and/or posts about updating information/address. You are required to be an active participant to remain in the Childless Holiday Card Exchange group.
That being said, Missy & I have decided that this year—2025—we are going to open the 5th Annual Childless Holiday Card Exchange to new members! YAY!!! Interested in learning more?! Well, read on…
What is the Childless Holiday Card Exchange 2025?!
So, what is the Childless Holiday Card Exchange? Well, it’s exactly what the name says. We childless women mail holiday cards to each other! Here are some guidelines…
- No two-legged kid talk. No trying to conceive or trying to adopt talk. Not even talk about nieces, nephews, or foreign exchange kids. NO two-legged kid talk!
- Talk and photos of fur babies is allowed. (Though there is a question on the SurveyMonkey questionnaire that asks if you want to receive cards with photos of pet babies.)
- There’s also a question that asks if it’s okay for childless couples to send you cards (which might include their photo).
- We even included a question asking if it’s okay to send you Christian cards. (So, we’re really trying to keep this as trigger-free as possible.)
- Each member is required to send at least 12 cards—a card to Missy (admin), a card to me (Brandi Lytle, admin), & ten cards to fellow group members. A majority of the group members send cards to everyone!
Who can participate in the Childless Holiday Card Exchange 2025?!
So, who can participate in the Childless Holiday Card Exchange?! Well, keep reading…
- Membership is open to childless women worldwide. (Though most of our members are in the United States.)
- You must have a Facebook account because the only way to join is through the Childless Holiday Card Exchange closed FB group. (When you request to join, please answer the membership questions AND review the group rules!)
- You must be able to send at least 12 holiday cards—one to Missy (admin), one to me (Brandi Lytle, admin) & ten to group members (who may be located outside the US).
- You must be willing to complete the SurveyMonkey Questionnaire, providing your mailing address and email address.
A few more details about the Childless Holiday Card Exchange 2025…
A few more things you should know about the Childless Holiday Card Exchange…
- Missy & I cannot take responsibility for the types of cards you receive. If you decide to participate in the holiday card exchange, you take full responsibility for your choices, actions, and results.
- We cannot guarantee that all your cards will arrive before December 25. Though we encourage members to send their cards (especially international cards) early, we cannot control when people get their cards in the mail or how long the post office takes to deliver them. Often, I receive cards into January. Personally, I love it! But if you want all your cards before Christmas… Well, this group might not be for you.
- We expect all members to send at least 12 cards—one to Missy (admin), one to me (Brandi Lytle, admin), and 10 to fellow group members. So, you should receive at least 10 holiday cards. We cannot, however, guarantee that you will receive 10 cards. How many cards received depends on fellow group members’ willingness to follow the requested rules.
- The group is limited to 50 members max. New members may join until 31 October 2025 OR until the group reaches 50 members—whichever happens first. So, don’t wait! Join now! (Make sure to answer the membership questions & review the group rules!)
On a personal note…
The Childless Holiday Card Exchange has become one of my favorite holiday traditions. As I type this blog, I am looking at a basket filled with cards that I received over the past four years. Honestly, I leave them out year-round because they remind me that I’m not alone.
Last year, on the day that I found out I had stage 1a endometrial cancer, I sat down & filled out my cards—stuffing envelopes, writing addresses, adding stamps… It was the most lovely distraction amidst the horrible news that I had cancer.
I love this group. And I am so excited for new members to join the fun!

What a lovely idea! I just stumbled upon your blog and love it. 🙂 Is this card exchange still happening this year? When I clicked on the link it seemed to be a broken link.
