As 2018 comes to an end, I am eagerly anticipating the arrival of 2019. In all honesty, I am more excited about the new year than I have been in quite some time. This is no doubt due to the fact that my hubby and I have several new adventures on the horizon…
Fresh Start, New Beginning . . .
Last year, I wrote about how the new year allows us to have a fresh start. In that blog, I stated, “The wonderful and not wonderful thing about January 1 is that we each have a choice to make. We can choose to continue down our current path, or we can change course, embarking on a fresh start, a new beginning.” (You can read the full post here.)
This year, not only is 2019 a new beginning, but a year that I feel is full of possibilities…
New Adventures . . .
My hubby and I are both embarking on new business adventures this coming year. It is exhilarating and scary all at once. For me, I’ll have to learn how to balance my work here at Not So Mommy… with my new business demands. On top of that, I need to help my hubby with his businesses and continue to take care of our family, complete our remodel, and make time for self-care. It will be a balancing act for sure…
Maintaining Balance . . .
But I’m excited about these new challenges and have already thought about ways that I can maintain balance in my life. One of them is to cut back a bit here at my blog. While I truly want to remain an avid supporter of the childless not by choice community, I cannot pour from an empty cup. Because I will have new responsibilities this year, I’ve decided that I must let some things go in order to make room for new ones…
New Posting Schedule . . .
That means, rather than posting twice a week on Not So Mommy…, I will post one blog every Monday. I’ll start the month with Good Things and end it with a CNBC or Good Things Story. (If you’d like to share your story, click here.) The rest of the month, I’ll post about being a wife, dog mom, aunt, host mom, infertile, childless woman who is redefining momhood and living this imperfectly, perfect life…
When my Grandad and best friend passed away in September, I took a break from social media. When I came back, I limited my posts to once a day. Because one of my new tasks in 2019 will be to help my hubby with his social media accounts, I’m going to continue my once-a-day social media postings here at Not So Mommy… I’ll also be helping my hubby with his newsletter, blogs, and emails, so I’ve decided to go to a monthly round-up email at Not So Mommy… instead of the weekly round-ups.
This community was amazingly supportive as I battled my initial grief. So, I have no doubt that you will be understanding about these changes I am making at Not So Mommy…
