#RealTalk about Infertility Clinics

As is often discussed in our community, there are many paths to childlessness.  I often say I am childless not by choice due to infertility.  Truthfully, there were spiritual, emotional, and financial reasons for our childlessness, as well.  (You can read more about that here.)  But I digress.  Today, I want to focus on infertility once again.  But today, I want to talk about an aspect of this journey that I don’t often discuss— infertility clinics and doctors.

Four Different Infertility Clinics in Two Different States…

During our trying to conceive years, my hubby and I visited four different infertility clinics in two different states.  Truly, I can’t remember if we met with four or five different infertility doctors…

Visiting different infertility clinics seems to happen quite often for those who battle infertility.  But why?  Why do we leave our infertility clinic?  Why do we search out a new infertility specialist?

#RealTalk about Infertility Clinics

Well, Andrea Syrtash and her team over at Pregnantish are curious about this, too.  So, they developed a quick, confidential survey to have some real talk about “Why I left my fertility clinic…”

Why we childless should share our perspective…

Although Pregnantish focuses on those within the infertility community who are still TTC, I believe the Not So Mommy… community should be involved, too.  Because wouldn’t it be amazing if we could help those in the midst of the battle to have an easier time than we did?  Wouldn’t it be incredible if our childless voices helped educate infertility clinics, doctors, and specialists about what those experiencing infertility treatments really need?  Perhaps sharing, helping, informing might bring a bit of purpose to our pain…

Plus, I believe those of us who have battled infertility, dealt with the pain of failed treatments, and come to the end of our journey childless have a unique and important perspective to offer the medical world.  And here is our chance to speak that truth!

A Survey about Infertility Clinics…

Fabulous ones, would you please take 5 minutes of your time to complete the confidential survey, “I left my fertility clinic because…”  Just click here to access the confidential survey.*  (I know there are Not So Mommy… community members world-wide.  This survey, however, is for North American residents only.)  As a thank you for your time, Pregnantish has given me a $50 Amazon gift card to giveaway.

*The survey is no longer available. (Updated 1 June 2023)

How to complete the survey AND be put in a drawing for a $50 gift card!

So, North American residents…  To be eligible for the $50 Amazon Gift Card and to help the infertility community, please do the following:

  1. Complete the short, confidential survey by clicking here… (The survey is no longer available.)
  2. Comment below when you’ve completed the survey. (All comments must be approved before they are published.  If you don’t want your comment posted on the website, just let me know.  ?)

In March, I’ll pick one person at random to receive the gift card.

Thank you so much for taking a bit of your time to read my blog.  And THANK YOU for completing this important survey that will no doubt help others!  You all are indeed FABULOUS!

Note:  The survey is geared towards those who are still TTC; however, those who are childless not by choice due to infertility may still complete the questions.  In fact, I have already taken the survey myself.  (But don’t worry!  I won’t put my name in the drawing for the gift card!  LOL)  But seriously, I truly believe our CNBC community has a unique perspective and very valuable insight to offer infertility clinics, doctors, and specialists.  I do hope that you will complete the survey.

Took the survey. I haven’t had experience with more than one clinic as my husband and I only went a little down the fertility path before giving up and being content for right now. Thank you

I appreciate you taking the time to complete the survey. The more information that is gathered, the more help can be given to those who walk this path after us.

I am so sorry that your journey has not ended with a little in arms. Despite the circumstances, I am grateful that you are here and that you & your husband have found some contentment.

So many hugs…

I took the survey. I had some pretty frustrating experiences with clinics that probably exacerbated my reasons for stopping treatment altogether.

Thank you for taking the time to share your perspective, Maggie. I am so sorry that you had negative experiences with clinics. I truly hope the data gathered from this survey will help improve the process so that others don’t have to go through the same frustrations that we did.

Took the survey. So happy to share and know that someone wants our feedback. Easy to feel like a cash cow at the fertility clinic.
