I truly want Maddie to live as long, healthy, and happy of a life as possible.  And I honestly believe that nutrition will play a key role in making this happen.  I mean, proper nutrition is a vital element to two-legged human health.  So, it only makes sense that nutrition is key to all living creatures.  Because of this, I am extremely particular about what we feed Maddie.  But before I continue with my dog mom thoughts on dog food and dog treats, specifically single ingredient dog treats…

The All-Important Disclaimers…
Recently, I ordered a package of TruDog Treat Me Savory Salmon Diced Delight single ingredient dog treats, using my affiliate link.  Unexpectedly, I received an email stating that if I would post new content about TruDog single ingredient dog treats, I would be eligible to receive a small bonus to my ShareASale account.  That being said, this is NOT an advertisement, but an honest review with some Dog Mom musings thrown in.  After reading my Dog Mom thoughts, if you decide to purchase TruDog products using my affiliate link, I will earn a small commission.

And now…

My Dog Mom Thoughts on Dog Food & Dog Treats…

Breakfast & Dinner…

Dane and I have always been concerned about what we feed our fur babies.  But I’ve gone into overdrive with Maddie’s meals and treats.  (I am, after all, an over-zealous Dog Mom to Maddie!)  That being said, I began cooking for Maddie several years ago.  Yes, for those of you who are new to Not So Mommy…, I cook Maddie’s breakfast and dinner, using human-grade, organic foods such as salmon, turkey, shrimp, broccoli, green beans, peas, eggs, blueberries, and more.

Fast Food…

Because there are times when life gets busy and I don’t get dinner cooked for anyone in the family, I was on the search for a healthy alternative, which I lovingly call Maddie’s “fast food.”  After trying several options, I finally landed on TruDog Boost Me Freeze-Dried Raw Topper as our quick go-to.

Honestly, TruDog Raw Topper is anything but “fast food.”  (I actually wrote a complete Dog Mom Review about this product.  You can read that here.)  In fact, we love TruDog Raw Topper so much that I am putting a spoonful on top of Maddie’s morning hard-boiled egg and blueberries.  So far, we’ve tried the beef, duck, whitefish, and rabbit flavors.  And Maddie loves all of them!

When placing my most recent purchase over at TruDog, I decided to try out some more of their products…

Dog Treats…

Our Maddie is quite food motivated.  So, we like to have plenty of treats on hand.  Often, she gets a baby carrot or a piece of cooked broccoli as her treat.  (Yes, broccoli is one of Maddie’s favorite things!)  But we also give her “store bought” dog treats, as well.

Grain-Free…

Maddie has food sensitivities.  I often say she is allergic to grain.  In all honesty, she is actually very sensitive to grain.  I have been able to add about a quarter of a teaspoon of organic brown rice to her dinner.  But if I give her any dog treat which contains grain, she gets diarrhea.  (Sorry not sorry about being graphic.  I’ve had some think I’m just being silly saying Maddie must have grain-free treats.  It’s not a “trendy” thing I’m jumping on board with.  It’s a health thing for my four-legged kid.)

Anyway…  Before I digress too much…

Single Ingredient Dog Treats…

So, any treat we feed Maddie must be grain-free.  Since receiving our monthly Pup Mom Crate, I’ve been learning about single ingredient dog treats.  And they are becoming my new favorite treats to give Maddie!  I mean, what’s better than turning over the package and seeing “Wild Caught Salmon” listed as the only ingredient?!

Above, I stated that when placing my most recent purchase over at TruDog, I decided to try out some more of their products.  And their Freeze-Dried Raw Super Treats were my choice!  TruDog Treat Me dog treats are made from just one ingredient.  Because Maddie adores salmon, I chose to get her the Savory Salmon Diced Delight single ingredient dog treats.  TruDog also offers beef, chicken heart, turkey, beef liver, and Chilean blue sea mussel flavors in their Treat Me line of single ingredient dog treats.

What is not included in TruDog Treat Me dog treats?  There is NO wheat, gluten, corn, soy, grain, artificial flavors, or artificial colors.  Also, TruDog does not add any salt, sugar, hormones, or antibiotics to their treats.

What is included in TruDog Treat Me dog treats?  One single ingredient that is freeze-dried to preserve both freshness and nutrition.

AND TruDog products are always made in the USA!

Seriously, Maddie and I love TruDog!

Some Final Dog Mom Thoughts on TruDog…
