I assert that I am childless, NOT childfree. My reasoning… I don’t ever want the kids in my life–nieces, nephews, our exchange daughter–to feel that I want to be free of them. In fact, I love the Savvy Auntie quote which states, “I am childfull.” (You can read more about all of that here.) That being said, there is a growing group which identifies as “childfree after infertility.” These individuals have a beautiful perspective on life and proudly speak their authentic truths. I have connected with several of them via Instagram. Honestly, whether one prefers “childless not by choice” or “childfree after infertility,” we have much in common. We both know the pain of letting go. We both understand what it means to accept what is, redefine, find joy despite… Because of that, I felt it was important to include childfree after infertility resources here at Not So Mommy…
